2027: Tinubu Will Defeat Atiku, Obi Even If They Unite — Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said President Bola Tinubu would defeat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election, even if the two opposition figures unite.

Fayose made the statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.

The former governor said the 2027 election would be a major contest involving Tinubu, Atiku and Obi, but argued that a possible alliance between the two opposition politicians would not prevent the President from winning.

According to Fayose, the opposition would face difficulties if Atiku and Obi failed to work together, as their votes could be divided across different political platforms.

He also claimed that Tinubu would secure more than 12 million votes in the election, citing what he described as the President’s political structure, particularly in the South-West.

Fayose questioned the level of support Atiku and Obi could attract in states such as Ekiti, Osun and Ondo, asking what political structure they had in the region.

He further said the current administration had stabilised the Nigerian economy, which he argued would strengthen Tinubu’s chances ahead of the 2027 election.

Fayose also dismissed the possibility of election rigging, saying the process had become increasingly difficult to manipulate.
