President Bola Tinubu has departed Lagos for Abuja, where he will oversee the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s project inaugurations.

President Tinubu was greeted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, President Femi Gbajabiamila’s chief of staff, and other government officials as he departed the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 11:43 AM.

During his visit to Lagos, the President officially started work on the 700-kilometer Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. The project aims to promote economic growth and development in rural areas.

President Tinubu also officially opened the Third Mainland Bridge, the Apapa-Oworonshoki-Ojota Expressway, and essentially started the restoration of 330 roads and bridges around the country.

The President will supervise the commissioning of multiple projects in Abuja, one of which is the southern Parkway that connects Christian Center to Ring Road One the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,  Nyesom Wike, named after him.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, marks President Tinubu’s one anniversary in power. His government has implemented some unfavorable policies during this time. He would also unveil the National Assembly Library Complex following his participation in the National Assembly Dialogue Series.

Departing the National Assembly, the President will relaunch the commercialization of Abuja Light Rail, also referred to as Abuja Metro, and figuratively board the train that would take him into the city center.

Following the train trip, Mr. Tinubu will officially open the Defence Intelligence Agency Headquarters and the Wuye Flyover-Link Bridge.
