French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais are said to be monitoring Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna, amid growing interest from several top European clubs.
The 18-year-old winger has enjoyed a breakout season with AIK Stockholm, where he has become a key figure following his move from Ikon Allah FC of Kaduna last summer.
His rise has also earned him a first invitation to the Super Eagles, although AIK declined to release him for international duty, pointing to his ongoing recovery from a recent injury setback.
Despite that, reports suggest the youngster could be heading for a major transfer in the upcoming summer window. AIK’s head of recruitment, Miika Takkula, has confirmed growing attention around the player.
French outlet Live Foot reports that Rennes are seriously exploring the possibility of signing him.
The Ligue 1 club are reportedly impressed by his profile and see him as a player with similarities to Ademola Lookman, and they are prepared to make a significant investment in his future.
Takkula also noted that AIK would only consider offers that reflect the player’s value, as interest continues to rise.
“He is very strong in one-on-one situations, good in the air, and has an excellent mindset. I won’t go into transfer figures, but we rate him highly. There is a lot of interest, and if he keeps performing like this, offers will come that we will have to seriously consider,” he said.
Yohanna, who has already been linked in the past with clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, RB Leipzig and Real Madrid, has two goals and two assists in seven league appearances this season.
After missing out on Super Eagles duty in London for the Unity Cup due to his club’s decision, he has also recently been sidelined from AIK’s last two matches because of injury.
