Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen joined his Galatasaray teammates on a special visit to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the club secured another Süper Lig title.
Galatasaray once again proved their strength in Turkish football by clinching their 26th league crown, ending the season ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahçe by three points.
Osimhen played a major role in the club’s successful campaign, registering 15 league goals alongside five assists in 22 appearances. The Nigerian striker also impressed in Europe, contributing seven goals and three assists in 10 UEFA Champions League matches before Galatasaray were knocked out by Liverpool in the last 16.
To celebrate the title success, President Erdoğan welcomed the Galatasaray squad to the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
The players, dressed formally in suits, met the Turkish leader and exchanged greetings during the official reception.
Club president Dursun Özbek also used the occasion to present a Galatasaray jersey to Erdoğan.
Galatasaray are now aiming to make more history next season. Winning the title again would see them become the first team in Turkey to capture five straight league championships.
Osimhen’s time at the club has been highly successful so far, with the striker already helping the team win three trophies.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian international continues to attract attention from top European clubs. Teams such as Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the forward, although Galatasaray remain determined to keep him at the club.
