Chelsea have been ordered to pay a fine of £10.75 million (about $14.27 million) and have also been handed a one-year transfer restriction that will only take effect if further violations occur, following past breaches of Premier League regulations, officials confirmed on Monday.
In addition, the West London side will immediately serve a nine-month ban preventing their academy from registering new players, according to a statement from the Premier League.
These penalties stem from irregularities uncovered in documents submitted to the league by the ownership group headed by American investor Todd Boehly after they completed the purchase of the club from former owner Roman Abramovich in 2022.
