Jetour Strengthens Africa Expansion through Nigeria Deal

Chinese automotive manufacturer Jetour has taken a major step in advancing its African growth strategy with the appointment of W Motors as its official distributor in Nigeria. The move positions Nigeria as a central pillar in Jetour’s plan to expand its footprint across the continent’s rapidly evolving automotive market.

The partnership was formally unveiled at a launch event held in Lagos, bringing together representatives from both companies. The collaboration is expected to combine Jetour’s global experience in vehicle design and engineering with W Motors’ understanding of the Nigerian market, consumer preferences and operating environment. Both partners said the alliance is aimed at delivering vehicles that balance advanced technology with durability suited to local road and terrain conditions.

As part of the rollout, Jetour Nigeria introduced the Jetour G700 at its flagship showroom in Lagos. The launch was led by the Vice President of Jetour International, Yuan Anguo, who described Nigeria as a priority market in the brand’s international expansion agenda. According to him, Jetour’s long-term growth strategy is anchored on adapting its products to the specific needs of each market it enters.

Yuan explained that the company has adopted a globalised approach to research and development to ensure its vehicles meet diverse regulatory, environmental and consumer requirements. He noted that the partnership with W Motors reflects Jetour’s intention to build a lasting presence in Nigeria rather than pursue short-term market entry. He also disclosed plans to expand Jetour’s product lineup in the country, including the introduction of a pickup truck in the near future, as the brand seeks to strengthen its competitiveness in multiple vehicle segments.

According to Yuan, Jetour’s focus is on delivering vehicles that combine power, innovation and resilience, particularly in markets where road infrastructure and terrain place higher demands on performance and reliability.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of W Motors, Wadih Nasrallah, said the company has made significant investments to ensure that Jetour customers in Nigeria enjoy a strong ownership experience. He emphasised that beyond vehicle sales, W Motors has prioritised after-sales service as a core component of the partnership.

Nasrallah noted that the company has established a dependable spare parts supply chain, trained technical teams and a customer-oriented support structure designed to serve Jetour owners nationwide. He added that these measures are intended to build trust and long-term confidence in the Jetour brand.

He also highlighted Jetour’s seven-year unlimited mileage warranty, describing it as a standout offering in the African automotive market. According to him, the warranty underscores the manufacturer’s confidence in the quality and durability of its vehicles while providing customers with added peace of mind.

The Jetour G700, which anchors the brand’s Nigerian debut, is positioned as a premium hybrid all-terrain sport utility vehicle capable of handling both city driving and extreme off-road conditions. Jetour said the model was engineered to appeal to drivers seeking luxury, performance and versatility in a single package.

The G700 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 904 horsepower and 1,135 Newton metres of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.6 seconds and offers a driving range of between 800 and 1,000 kilometres on a full charge and tank.

Designed for demanding environments, the SUV features a wading depth of 900 millimetres and seven intelligent off-road driving modes that allow it to adapt to varying surfaces, including urban roads, rugged terrain and desert landscapes.

Inside, the six-seater cabin blends comfort with advanced technology. Features include massage-enabled seats, air quality management systems and a multi-screen intelligent cockpit. Jetour said the vehicle is equipped with four-screen interaction, a Snapdragon-powered voice control system and integrated connectivity features designed to enhance the driving experience.

With the Nigerian partnership now in place, Jetour said it is confident the country will serve as a gateway for deeper engagement across Africa, supported by local expertise, strong after-sales infrastructure and a growing appetite for technologically advanced vehicles.
