Veteran Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, has emphasized the importance of education to Nigerian youth, urging them to stay committed to learning despite the challenges they may face.

Speaking during an interview on the Landslide Podcast on Thursday, Ike noted that while the benefits of education may not manifest immediately, growth and success eventually follow with perseverance.

The actor also recounted a personal experience from his days at Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), where he was approached by peers to engage in a fraudulent scheme that could have earned him ₦50 million. He said he rejected the offer, describing himself as “a church boy” who preferred to take the longer but honest path to success.

Emeka Ike, born March 22, 1967, in Lagos, is one of the pioneering figures in Nollywood, rising to fame in the 1990s with his roles in romantic dramas and family-centered movies. Widely regarded as one of the industry’s leading “lover boys,” he has featured in classics such as End of the Wicked, Love Affair, and Not Man Enough. Beyond acting, Ike is also an entrepreneur and education advocate.
