Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy has added another accolade to his growing list of international achievements. His hit single “It’s Plenty” has officially received a Gold certification from SNEP (the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing), reinforcing his dominance in the French music market.
This milestone comes just weeks after “We Pray,” his collaboration with British band Coldplay, earned a Diamond certification from SNEP. With this latest award, Burna Boy now holds a total of 15 certifications in France, the most ever by a Nigerian artist, solidifying his status as a global icon.
“It’s Plenty,” released as one of the standout tracks from his seventh studio album “I Told Them,” has enjoyed strong commercial success, particularly in France. Burna Boy recently made history in the country by selling out the 80,000-capacity Stade de France, becoming the first African artist to do so.
In 2024, he also became the first artist to appear on the cover of Billboard France Magazine, a landmark moment that highlighted his rising popularity in the region.
Burna Boy’s growing list of French certifications includes Diamond awards for “Last Last,” “On the Low,” and “We Pray.” His tracks “Gbona,” “YE,” “City Boy,” and “Donne-Moi L’accord” (a collaboration with French singer Dadju) have received Platinum certifications. Meanwhile, “Alone,” “Anybody,” “For My Hand” featuring Ed Sheeran, and now “It’s Plenty” have all earned Gold certifications.
As a ten-time Grammy nominee, Burna Boy is preparing for a major year in 2025 with the upcoming release of his eighth studio album, “No Sign of Weakness.” So far, he has released five singles from the project, including “Tatata,” a Brazilian funk-inspired collaboration with American rapper Travis Scott.
With four Grammy-nominated albums and the distinction of being the first Nigerian artist to have three albums surpass 500 million streams on Spotify, Burna Boy continues to set the pace for African music on the global stage.
