Wike Urged to Fire Tinubu Appointee

The Empowerment for Unemployed Youths Initiative (EUYI) has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to take disciplinary action against the Mandate Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdullahi Ango. This follows allegations that Ango opposed the appointment of Comrade Solomon Adodo to the board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

According to EUYI, Ango allegedly collaborated with members of opposition parties in staging a protest last Thursday at the National Assembly, targeting both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Adodo.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, EUYI National Coordinator, Comrade Danesi Momoh Prince, condemned Ango’s reported actions, describing them as deeply troubling. He questioned the propriety of a presidential appointee publicly aligning with opposition elements to undermine the President’s nominee.

EUYI further claimed that during the protest, participants made statements that not only disparaged President Tinubu but also included veiled threats of unrest, communal dissent, and possible insurrection, allegedly under the guise of defending Indigenous rights.

As a result, the group has called on Minister Wike to relieve Ango of his duties, stating that his actions contradict the values and objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This betrayal of trust is completely at odds with the expectations of someone serving under President Tinubu,” EUYI said. “If Mr. Ango truly understands his role, he should not be working against the very administration he represents.”

“Though he may have believed his involvement was discreet, the truth has now come to light. We trust in your leadership to act swiftly and decisively. Please accept the assurances of our highest regard.”
